AeroLLoyd Can Now Provide
Fire
Fighting Equipment
New Contract will provide
disaster relief to
state agencies in the North American region
AeroLLoyd, with
offices in Orlando Florida, has entered into a contract with a European
company to provide a IL76 TD-water-bomber for fire fighting missions
in the North American region. The aircraft have been specially modified
with a detachable water storage device designed by Ilyushin (VAP 2) which
can carry 44 tons of water and disperse its contents at about 4 tons per
second. This "monster" can provide about 3 times the load of any aircraft
currently available in North America. It is intended that the aircraft
could operate for the convenience of Federal, State and Local governments
(Public Use) on an as needed basis in support of wild fire suppression
and emergency relief.
Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Schoonover states : "With the devastation
of the fires in the United States, the need
is apparent to facilitate the most effective equipment". The aircraft
requires a full crew of 24 and may be refilled within 20 minutes while
flying fire combat missions. In addition, the IL76 can provide
heavy lift capability and may be dispatched to move equipment or personnel
in support of wildfire suppression. |
